Frequently Asked Questions

How do I file a claim?


You must register an account to file a claim using CloudCourt. Upon registration you will receive a unique username and be required to select a password for your account. A bundle of filings can then be purchased as suits your requirements. (link to CloudCourt login)

How do I serve on the Defendant?

Once you have received your sealed Claim Form from CloudCourt, it must be served on the Defendant in accordance with CPR 7.5 Service of a Claim Form.






How long will it take for my form to be received by the court?

CloudCourt will deliver your form  to court within seconds

How do I know my form has been submitted successfully?

You will receive an email to your registered account confirming receipt of your form.

How will I receive my sealed form back?

A sealed copy of your form, suitable for service, will be emailed to your  registered email account. A hard copy will follow by post.

How long will it take to receive my court approved form?

This is dependant on the court with which your form is filed. CloudCourt will lodge your document in seconds and deliver a sealed copy to you within moments of receipt by the court.

What happens if there is an error on my form?

CloudCourt will not allow you to submit a form that contains errors. It cannot however, check the information  provided by you to complete a form. See “What happens if my form is rejected by the court?” for further information.

What happens if my form is rejected by the court?

CloudCourt will not allow a form to be submitted without the completion of all fields required to make a form compliant with the court rules. CloudCourt cannot ensure the information given by you on a form is correct.

It is important to note that if you make a mistake upon issuing a claim you will be required to make an application to court and pay a fee to amend and re-issue the claim. If you notice an error, please contact the court immediately for guidance – your claim will not be able to proceed unless the amendment is made. You should also be aware that the defendant(s) is entitled to submit applications to the court throughout the life of the claim. For example, the defendant may apply to ‘strike out’ the claim, apply to set aside or vary (change the instalments) the judgment or apply for a certificate of satisfaction / cancellation (when the case is paid). What happens if a form I require is not held by CloudCourt?

CloudCourt continuously updates it’s library of webforms. In the unlikely event that a form is not held, CloudCourt provides an “SS1” form which acts as a cover sheet for miscellaneous forms

How do I pay my court fees?

The quickest and easiest way to pay your court fee is to open an account with HMCTS. More information can be found at: https://www.justice.gov.uk/courts/fees/payment-by-account

On the CloudCourt homepage select “Reset password”. Enter your registered email address. An email will be sent to you allowing you to update your password
